One of the books I am reading right now is The Human Stain by Philip Roth.  I love his use of words including the ones I don't know exactly.
In my writing journal I write words and phrases of interest.  I am hoping that out of all this I will be able to find that idea to write my book. 
Yesterday I wrote "agitating entanglements." I connect well with that phrase.   It seems that my life is a string of them.  I can't for the life of me figure people out.  I can't make sense of things.  I am getting tired.
