It seems we have run into financial difficulties because of this no home phone plan we have.

I thought that it was the way to go, why would anyone need a home phone when you are paying all this money to have a cell phone? G is taking this class to pass the boards in June and the class in thousands of dollars for a weekend of cramming. So, we decided to take advantage of our impeccable credit and roll all of our debt into a zero percent no payment for a year credit card deal. We have done it before and pay it all off when we get our tax returns. Fine and dandy, until they find out you don't have a home phone. G got a letter asking for proof of employment, proof of homeownership (no renting), and various other papers. They think G can't afford a telephone. The cell phone plan is in my name and because of high moral values that we all have taken on, it is of no value that G pays it every month.
meanwhile, time is ticking and if the credit card company that we are applying to doesn't pay off the old one we will have to make a minimum payment and get socked with a huge finance charge for the month.
G put in an extra mortgage payment this month, and $650 into the Roth IRA. Now we are basically screwed. Where the hell is Suze Orman when you need her.
We thought we were doing everything right.
